ITANAGAR, Nov 5: A one day state level workshop on ‘Measles Elimination and Rubella Control’ for District RCH Officer and Medial Officers organized by National Health Mission, Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with World Health Organization(WHO) was conducted today here at a private hotel.
Its objective was to sensitize the District RCH Officer and Medical Officers on the measles elimination and rubella control goal and strengthen surveillance. Resource Persons SMO-WHO Dr. S Sarkar & Dr. Ushma, Focal person WHO Dr. Megha Parkash and MO Immunization Dr.Tage Taka sensitized the participants about the surveillance methodology and its ways of strengthening. Director Health Services Dr. M Lego urged the participants to work in coordination and give their full efforts towards achieving the goal. Deputy Director Family Welfare Dr. C Mongmaw advised the participants to take the full advantage of the workshop for further dissemination in districts and blocks.
State Immunization Officer Dr. D Padung encouraged the participants to report and investigate any case of suspected measles and focus on strengthening the routine immunization goals which will ultimately help in achieving measles elimination and rubella control in India by 2023.
