ROING, May 6: A Matru Shakti Shibir, organised by Vivekananda Kendra, was inaugurated on Saturdayby the Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom(IAS) at VKV Roing, in the presence of Jatan Pulu, VKVAPT trustee member and Krulesor Ngadong, Lohit district Vibhag Pramukh.
The DC gave an inspirational speech encouraging the participants to strive to do better in their field and stay at par with their male contemporaries. She also emphasised upon the education of girl child, which would automatically empower them. The DC also said that it is important for women to have a sense of responsibility to educate their daughters.
Jatan Pulu appreciated Vivekananda Kendra for playing a vital role in moulding children to become good citizens and thanked the organization for organising the
Shibir for the first time in the district.
The Matru Shakti Shibir aims to guide and train local women how to bring up their families well, along with serving the people.
