Roing, Feb 29: A marathon race with the message “Run for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” was organised today under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Campaign and Arunachal Rising Campaign (ARC) to mark the forthcoming International Women’s Day celebration on March 8.
The 7-km marathon started here from the Roing general ground and was flagged off by DD (ICDS) Geyum Amo Perying and SMO Dr. F Rehman and BBBP pledge was administered to the participants numbering 50. Sports activities like sack race, needle race, tug of war and musical chair continued after the marathon. Women of all age groups actively participated to make the event a success.
All the winners of events will be awarded on the International Women’s Day celebration which is scheduled to take place here at Central Rekho, Cheta. DIPRO
