Khonsa, Jan 27: It was a memorable moment here on the Republic Day last Sunday when freelancer Umesh Gopinath Jhadav visited the birth place of martyr Hav. Hangpan Dada “Ashok Chakra” to collect the soil of his birth place and interacted with Veer Nari Chasan Dada and villagers of Borduria.
On February 14, 2019, Jhadav was at Jaipur airport to board a flight when the Pulwama terror attack took place. Touched by the enormity of casualty, he wanted to do something to respect the Pulwama bravehearts who made highest sacrifice for the nation. As a part of his intention, he had travelled 52500 km covering 23 states so far and collected holy soil of the martyrs’ birth places and shared emotional moments with the bereaved families with promise to make a memorial at Pulwama.
His dedication, passion and highest level of commitment is visible in his courage to travel across 28 states and 9 UTs single-handedly without financial help from any political party/NGO or organization.
While Jhadav’s mission is to educate school children, villagers and common people about the sacrifices of the soldiers, problems faced by bereaved families and motivating them to respect the nation, his larger objective is to educate the entire population of the nation about patriotism, national cause and ‘Shrestha Bharat’. He also participated in 36 Bn CRPF Republic Day celebrations and interacted with men and officers who congratulated him for his noble act. DIPRO
