ITANAGAR, Jan 15: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have extended their warm greetings and good wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti,  Pongal and Magh Bihu.
Mentioning Arunachal’s association with the occasion, Governor mentioned that in Parasuram Kund on the banks of Lohit on Makar Sankranti or Magh Bihu as it is known in Assam, large number of devotees and pilgrims come for a holy dip. On behalf of all citizens of the state, I welcome all to the traditional Makar Sankranti Mela and wish them a very happy and joyous Makar Sankranti and Magh Bihu, his message read.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has conveyed his greetings on the auspicious occasions of Makar Sankranti Uttarayan, Pongal and Magh Bihu to the people of the state.
He welcomed the pilgrims and devotees to Parashuram Kund and expressed pride that hundreds of Tamils and Assamese have made Arunachal Pradesh their second home and are contributing to its development. “As we welcome the Sun God and arrival of a new season, let us resolve to stand united against all odds and evils and start working for a brighter future,” he said in his message.  PRO Raj Bhavan, CMO
