ITANAGAR, May 24:Based on the FIR lodged by one Motey Linngi, Anchal Samity Member, Village Awali of Dibang Valley district, Anini police has arrested General Manager Madhucon projects limited, Suresh Pothineni in connection with violation of Explosives Act.

In its FIR, Linngi claimed that Madhucon projects limited  engaged in construction of 21 km road from  Hunli to Anini has been  stacking and blasting explosives without following the prescribed norms as well as without taking any preventive and precautionary measures which may endanger hundreds of lives and properties.

Despite repeated pleas to the authority for preventive measures, GM hasn’t paid heed to the requests that compelled the Panchayat leader to lodge the FIR.

As per the norms one can’t store explosives within a 2 km radius of even a single habitation area. To store it one needs to build a proper explosives magazine. But Madhucon projects limited is storing its tonnes of explosives within the Awali village in a locally made hutment in order to save few lakhs thus jeopardising hundreds of human lives, stated the complaint letter.
