Terming the IPPI as a very vital program, DMO Dr.Tage Kano said that although India has been declared polio free on 27th March, 2014, there is always a probability of the polio virus being transmitted from neighbouring countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan where polio still prevails. Therefore precautions still have to be adopted to prevent the reoccurrence of the crippling disease, he added.
