Ziro, Apr 15: Keeping in view that nationwide lockdown has been extended till May 3, DC Lower Subansiri on Tuesday convened a meeting to review the district’s action plan to be adopted for the 2nd phase of the lockdown.
The meeting elaborately discussed issues such as essential services, procedure to sanitize goods trucks coming from Assam and other parts of the country, preparation of Covid-19 Care Centres, police surveillance, transportation management for government employees attending offices and creation of a standard communication channel for tracking drivers and handymen of essential goods trucks etc. DMO Dr. Tage Kanno opined the lockdown extension will give additional time in equipping with better medical facilities like ICU, PPE etc. “However we will have to be more vigilant in tracking the people coming from red zone areas and ensure they are quarantined institutionally,” he said. “For this, quarantine supervisors appointed for each village will have to trace the people based on data provided on Covid-19 dashboard that provides details of people and their travel history and counsel them for quarantine,” he suggested.
In the meeting it was decided to prepare a database of all the employees working under various departments and accordingly prepare a rooster for office attendance. For their transportation, Arunachal State Transport buses will be requisitioned and all employees will have to compulsorily wear masks while travelling in these buses for reaching offices. ADC Yachuli J T Obi emphasized on rigorous disinfection of goods vehicles coming from Assam and other parts of the country at Potin. “Potin is the entry point for all goods trucks for Lower Subansiri, Kamle, Upper Subansiri, Kra Dadi and Kurung Kurmey. The task of disinfecting all these trucks is very heavy,” he added, while requesting the SP Lower Subansiri to engage the mini-fire vehicles for spraying disinfectants.
It was further decided that works at construction sites and small-scale industries can be restarted after obtaining written permissions furnishing details of all labourers engaged from the District Administration. The officials of the DA will also inspect the sites physically before issuing the work permits.
District Police was requested to provide 24x7 surveillance at Pai Gate which is the entry point to Ziro township to monitor unauthorized entries of men and vehicles.
ADC Nending Chatung, all administrative officers and DDMO attended the meeting. DIPRO
