Ziro, Apr 17: Two sample collection kiosks, one for collection of throat swab for RT-PCR and the other for blood sample for rapid antibody test were formally inaugurated on Friday here at the Gyati Takka General Hospital by Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri Chukhu Takar. 
The throat swab collection kiosk has been sponsored by Apatani Women Association, Ziro (AWAZ) and the blood sample collection kiosk by Ngunu Ziro and laboratory testing of the samples will be done in ICMR, Dibrugarh. The kiosks will ensure safety of the frontline workers as well as reduce the need for PPEs. DC also took stock of the Covid-19 preparedness by the District Health Society later in the Conference Hall of the hospital.
DMO Dr. Tage Kanno dwelt at length about the activities initiated by the DHS and informed that regular disinfection of places frequented by common people, house quarantine mapping of all villages, contact tracing of new entrants into the district by the  quarantine supervisors and monitoring of house-quarantined people are being done on a daily basis. DHS has started a tele OPD facility over 9862886893 to cater to regular OPDs, he added.
Doctors and members from these two Community Based Organisations (CBOs) were present during the inaugural programme. DIPRO
