NAHARLAGUN, Apr 10:

 

The lone regional political party, the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) today celebrated its 40th foundation day here today in a befitting manner at its party headquarters located at Papu Nallah.

 

The daylong celebration started with hoisting of party flag by the PPA Chairman Kamen Ringu and paying of floral tribute to former PPA leaders, screening of a documentary on party work and works carried out by former PPA, CM Kalikho Pul etc.

 

Dwelling on the long journey of PPA in the political arena of the state, MLA Takam Pario

underscored that the regional party has been formed with an aim to strengthen the traditional bond between the indigenous tribe, people unification and to disseminate feeling of one Arunachal.  Pario opined that to carry forward the ideology of the party, the youths need to come up and join hands in strengthening the lone regional party.

 

Hailing the party workers, further Pario said, “We recall with pride the hard-work of generations of PPA workers who built the Party brick by brick with an endeavour to serve society”.

 

PPA central working committee Chairman, Kamen Ringu in his address said that time has come to disseminate the feeling of “unity in diversity” in the mind of people of state.

 Ringu said that due to westernization particularly the youth are forgetting their culture and customs. Terming such trend as alarming and a threat to the tribal culture, he opined that youths need to save the indigenous identity before it vanishes.

 

On issue of NEDA, Ringu disclosed that he is personally going to meet the NEDA convener, Hemanto Biswa Sharma very soon to finalize whether to continue with the alliance.

 

PPA President Kahfa Bengia elaborated on political scenario and regional ideology and party activities in the state.

 

Further one point resolution was passed on the occasion to pursue and carry forward the message of Late Kalikho Pul ‘Mere Vichar’ to the people and resolved to fight against corruption in the state.
