ITANAGAR, Dec 9: In the midst of national outrage that dispensation of justice in India takes a considerable time and energy and with the ever increasing burdening of courts with litigation, the initiative of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) to facilitate easy and early settlement of pending cases and facility of adjudicating pre-litigation cases have been bearing fruits. In Arunachal Pradesh more than 3000 cases in various courts have been settled and monetary compensation of more than Rs. 5- 6 crores ordered under the initiative.
Keeping with the said initiative and programme, is the Legal Services Authorities in the state namely the District & Sessions courts, Yupia, Tezu, Pasighat, Bomdila,Chief Judicial Magistrate, Seppa, Yupia, Roing, Ziro, Aalo,
Judicial Magistrate First Class, Daporijo,Yupia,Yingkiong,Tawang and Tirap respectively participated in the said Lok Adalat wherein the courts took up 1361 cases  and settled 172 cases and amount settled was Rs 80,37,560.
