TEZU, Jun 14:Loiliang village under Tezu sadar circle has been selected to be developed as model village under the Chief Minister's Adarsh Gram Yojana (CMAGY).

Formally launching the programme at Government Primary School, Loiliang, Minister Agriculture, Horticulture, Fishery, AH&V, and Sports & Youth Affairs, Dr Mohesh Chaidescribed the day as historic for the residents as the village will embark on a new era of development where they will be provided with piped drinking water, electricity at household level, primary school, primary health infrastructure, internal roads, avenues for employment generation and open defecation free.

Loiliang village is one of the oldest villages and has retained its cultural and traditional significance. It has also been selected as one of the two Model Cultural Villages in Arunachal Pradesh. Dr. Chai shared his idea to develop it as cultural hub from tourism point of view.

This year 32 beneficiaries have been selected for construction of dwelling houses through Gram Sabha under CMAGY.

The entitled amount will be deposited in bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer. All this is to ensure transparency and accountability, he said adding that developmental activities will be taken up in phase manner.

Meanwhile, the Minister encouraged the youths to make good use of smart phones and asked them to visit www.arunachalbudget.in to broaden their knowledge about the plans and policies of the State Government.

He also spoke of his plan to send few women members of Self Help Groups to Jorhat, Assam for obtaining industrial training which will provide them with skills to make saleable items by using raw materials available around.

‘This will help them to uplift their economic status,’ Dr. Chai said.

He also shared his idea to open farmers’ co-operative societies to provide market for cardamom and other agri and allied produce growers. Policy of my departments will be farmer’s centric, he told.

He also informed that an Engineering College under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan has been sanctioned for Tezu.

Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki informed that the selected beneficiaries will be awarded with the necessary fund in phase manner after observing all the codal formalities.
