TEZU, Mar 21: Lohit District Administration has intensified all coronavirus precautionary measures across the district.
Every entry point has been sealed along with restriction of issue of ILP and thermal screening of every individual entering the district through Digaru checkgate and Sunpura. A medical team headed by the District Surveillance Officer Dr S Towang are engaged in the screening process at the Digaru checkgate.
“We have four people under home quarantine, two at Wakro and another two at Tezu since they have been detected with high fever after screening and are under treatment and observation,” Dr Towang informed, adding that till date no positive case has been reported in the district and maximum vigilance has been kept to detect any possible cases.
Meanwhile, police and medical team have complained that Army and other paramilitary vehicles or convoys are not complying with the advisory of voluntary screening. “They are not cooperating and evading the screening process which is an alarming sign as it increases the risk of an outbreak,” rued one of the staff.
