ITANAGAR, Mar 26: Amid the ongoing lockdown in the state, Namsai police has seized at least 23 two-wheelers and has recovered Rs 13,000 as penalties under the MV Act.
“We also took undertaking from many violators along with issuing warning,” said DSP-Namsai S Perme, adding that they are keeping an eye on such violators and will book them if they repeat the same mistake. 
In East Siang district, 6 persons have been arrested for violating lockdown orders and 38 issued penalty challans amounting to Rs 33,000 for violating traffic restrictions. Despite the lockdown in force, several people were found loitering on roads without genuine reasons. 
East Siang police will come down with iron hand on people who are violating the lockdown orders and are putting themselves and the community at risk of Covid-19, SP East Siang stated through the official social networking site.
When asked, SP Changlang Mihin Gambo and SP Upper Siang Neelam Nega informed that no violators were booked till Thursday evening and denizens are being reminded to follow the lockdown regulations as far as possible.
