TEZU, Dec 14: Gram Lok Programme was organized under the active participation of the Sahitya Akademi in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society, Itanagar here on Thursday in a simple ceremony at Bamboosa Library.  
The main focus of the initiative was to bring to limelight rural litterateurs who often do not get exposure like their urban counterparts. The event planned to bridge the gap and promote writers from villages to the district, regional and national level. 
YD Thongchi, Sahitya Akademi Awardee and also APLS president, encouraged each one especially the youth to build up interest in writing in order to educate and disseminate the masses about the hidden culture, facts, folklore and other interested stories. 
While suggesting the noble initiative, Nakul Chai as chief guest also urged the interested lot to write on local significance for better exposure. 
A skit depicted by students of the Library on radical urban pollution / littering was showcased in the guise of a cow and how the animal unknowingly consumed plastic wrappers and fell sick.
Among those notable guests, Batem Pertin, Directorate of Library Itanagar, Karma Leki, DC and DW Thongon, SP Lohit, Dr K Megu, Principal and Associate Professors from IGG College, Heads of the Departments also participated.
