ITANAGAR, Mar 16: Acting on the instructions from the Election Commission of India to control sale of illegal liquor in Arunachal Pradesh, the Central Liquor Monitoring and Seizure Team of the department of Tax, Excise and Narcotics conducted surprise raids on various liquor godowns in Banderdawa area of Papum Pare district.
The team was led by Deputy Commissioner (Enforcement), Tanon Tatak and compromised of Superintendent (Enforcement), John Siram, inspectors and constables of the enforcement wing.
Following the ECI directives in this regard, the state Tax, Excise & Narcotics department has also formed District Liquor Monitoring Squads(DLMS) in all districts of the state.
Earlier, IRS, Commissioner, Tax & Excise & Narcotics, Anirudh Singh had also given strict instructions to all DLMS to conduct such exercise in their respective jurisdiction regularly. PRO to CS
