ITANAGAR, Jan 9: The Dem Literary & Cultural Society (DL&CS) led by its Chairman, Licha Pingamalong called upon sportsperson, Likha Tara at his residence to congratulate him for scripting history by becoming the first person in entire Northeast India to hold the post of the President Karate Association of India (KAI).
Terming him a humble person, the Society said “Despite hailing from a remote village, his rise to such prominence is a sheer example of hard work and perseverance.”
Likha Tara is a native of Dem Village, Lower Subansiri District. Earlier, he served as a Police Officer and was also attached as Karate Instructor at the Police Training Centre, Banderdewa during his service.
After taking voluntary retirement from service, he was associated with several associations and federations in the field of Karate and Sports. He is among the founding members of Arunachal Karate-do Association.
