ITANAGAR, Oct 23: Mission Pratiraksha was launched on Monday across the state in a befitting manner.  Minister for Health & Family Welfare Alo Libang while launching the state-level immunization here at Karsingsa session site, appealed to all the parents to come forward and get full immunization of their children to protect them from preventable diseases. 
He informed that Mission Pratiraksha is a State government initiative to accelerate the process of achieving 90 per cent immunization coverage in the state by reaching out to the unreached and motivating them to get full immunization. 
 Special secretary (FW) cum Mission Director (NHM) Dr Kinny Singh informed that this mission will entirely focus on those districts where number of left-out children is higher. She said the vaccination will target 0-2 years of age group and pregnant women. While informing about the status of state immunization which is currently 67 per cent she said, 30 to 35 % children are yet to get the immunization. 
Nodal officer (NHM) Dr D Padung while briefing on Mission Pratiraksha said routine immunization is one of highest priority health programmes but still the desired target is not achieved by the state.  He informed that the strategy of MPr will remain the same as Mission Indradanush wherein headcount, survey microplan, follow up, mobilization and wide awareness and close monitoring at regular intervals  will be done but in addition to this Mission Pratiraksha will include incentives to ASHA & ANM for every left out child identified by them. 
He also informed about award mechanism to top three districts and leadership award will be given in terms of coverage percentage of immunization.  
 The programme was attended by DHS, Director TRIHMS and DME along with senior officers of Health Department.
