ITANAGAR, Aug 4: The first ever Mid term CME (Continuing Medical Education) of East Zone Urological Society of India (EZUSI) was conducted here at Itanagar on August 2-3 last. More than 30 delegates from all over India participated in the annual event.
Health Minister Alo Libang attended the event as Chief Guest and inaugurated the program. Welcoming the delegates, he highlighted Kidney related issues prevalent in Arunachal Pradesh. Assuring to promote Urology in the state, Libang also assured support to start kidney transplant in the state in near future.
He asked all delegates to keep supporting the state's lone urologist and take care of patients when referred outside.
Guest of honour Prof. S K Singh from PGI Chandigarh also thanked the organising team for their hospitality and promised to support doctors in future. He also promised to keep training program for the state's doctors in near future.
EZUSI president Dr D.K Pal also deliberated on aims and objectives of EZUSI. He told the gathering that EZUSI was committed to promote urology in far-flung states like Arunachal and promised to continue his support.
Hony Secretary EZUSI Dr. Shyam Babu Prasad, Organising Chairman Dr. Moji Jini, Director TRIHMS also addressed the august gathering. Special guest Dr. Byabang Rana also spoke.
Organising Secretary Dr. Goto Gangkak, Urologist in his speech promised to work hard to promote the field of urology in the state.
The academic feast had more than 20 speakers from all over the country, who gave talks on various issues, trends and controversies in patient management. Experts in the field of Stone disease, Oncology, Urogynaecology, Prostate diseases presented videos and management guidelines were also presented. Newsdesk
