In the course of their inspection, four traders were found selling cold drink items beyond MRP while one hardware shop was selling packaged items without mandatory information like MRP as required under Packaged Commodities Rules. The team seized a number of PC items and booked them for indulging in unfair practices in their day-to-day transactions. They also seized an electronic balance from a shopkeeper who used the same without getting it verified from the Legal Metrology Department.
Controller Legal Metrology & CA, Hoktum Ori has appealed traders to get their weights and measures verified on time and obtain verification certificate from the jurisdictional Legal Metrology Officers to avoid late fine and legal action.
