Pasighat, Jan 19: The two-day Legal Literacy Training for Gaon Buras and Buris of East Siang, Upper Siang and Siang districts was conducted today here at Siang Guest House which dwelt on the topic ‘Synergy Between Customary Practices and Formal Laws’. The training organized by Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) East Siang was participated by 90 Gaon Buras and Gaon Buris. 
DC East Siang Dr Kinny Singh was Chief Guest and SP East Siang Rajiv Ranjan Singh Guest of Honour. 
Member Secretary, APSLSA Budi Habung while highlighting the importance of the training, said that it will help the GBs to understand their status and power in the community. 
SP underscored the need of GBs in differentiating and resolving disputes at village authority (Kebang) level and appreciated APSLSA and DLSA for taking the initiative.  This was followed by the technical session covering various crucial topics. President, Pasighat Bar Association Tony Pertin and Special PP (POCSO) Sanjoy Taye and CDPO Mebo Sub-Division M.T. Mayong were among the Resource Persons along with other experts from academic and law backgrounds. Chairman Advisory Committee of Arunachal Pradesh Gaon Bura Welfare Association (APGBWA) cum President, Siang District Gaon Bura Welfare Association (GBWA) Tamiyo Mingki on behalf of the GBs expressed gratitude towards APSLSA and DLSA for organizing the training.
