ZIRO, Sep 26:Member Secretary, Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Budi Habung formally inaugurated the 13th legal literacy club cum library at Mihin Bagang Government secondary school, Hapoli today.
The initiative is to sensitize school students on legal rights being provided by APSLSA in collaboration with SARVAHITEY, an NGO under its Project ‘Paper Bridge’, to promote a culture of reading, capacity building, digital literacy, and career counseling etc.
In his speech, Habung spoke on the background and the objectives of opening of such legal literacy club in schools and colleges as provided under the NALSA Scheme on “Legal Literacy Club in schools and colleges. He also spoke on the functions and role of Legal Services Authority in providing legal aid to the poor and marginalized sections of society.
Meanwhile, the NGO donated around 400 books, while the State Legal Services Authority donated 300 numbers of its legal pamphlets to the library. CJM, Ziro cum Secretary DLSA, Tageng Padoh, Principal of the school and members of the local Bar Association among others were present.
