Raga, Mar 6: Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Lower Subansiri has set up a Legal Aid Clinic (LAC) here at the DC Office Complex in Kamle district.
The clinic was formally inaugurated on March 5 last by DC Kamle Moki Loyi in presence of Member Secretary, APSLSA Jaweplu Chai and other dignitaries.
Member Secretary, APSLSA spoke on the concept of establishment of Legal Aid Clinic and the roles & objectives of Legal Services Authority under Legal Services Authority Act 1987 wherein legal services are provided free to the weaker sections of society to ensure that opportunity for securing justice are not denied to any citizen due to economic & other disabilities.
PDC applauded the establishment of the LAC and requested the people attending the programme to spread its news to every household and approach it for any legal help. The Clinic has been established with support from the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice, GoI under ‘Access to Justice North East and Jammu and Kashmir(A2J NE & JK) Project’ and with this, the total number of such LACs is now 7.
Besides this, an induction training for Para Legal volunteers (PLVs) and Legal Aid Counsels was also conducted by APSLSA and DLSA Lower Subansiri which covered various topics. APSLSA PR
