Emphasising on how borderland’s geopolitical developments are relevant in Northeast India and on the importance of Stilwell Road that cuts through the borders of some countries, she told that although China is quite eager to develop it, India is apprehensive and reluctant on the ground that it would benefit China only.
She added that to make Stilwell Road a reality, India has an important role to play with the NE states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh having major relevance. Dean also highlighted how the road has been developed with some stretches like Tengchong-Myitkyina on the process of being upgraded to four-lane highway. IGGC PR
