ROING, Apr 29: Amid various controversies that have surfaced during the lockdown over police action, in a remarkable opposite, the Lower Dibang Valley police is earning accolades from local denizens for their yeoman services during the prevailing lockdown.
“We are trying all-out to deliver best services to the people and our endeavour during this lockdown is to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the district through maintenance of cordial relations with the people. 
District police has deployed drones as a surveillance tool to make the lockdown more successful in Roing,” Superintendent of Police, Lower Dibang Valley, Sanjay Kumar Sain said. He also informed that during the trying times, people of the district are extending support to the police in maintaining the lockdown, adding that his team is doing their best to help the stranded people and migrant labourers, with adoption of more than 350 daily wage earners and providing them ration twice a week.
“Support from the district’s NGOs, common people and especially by those who donated their little savings have motivated us to do our duties with more sincerity,” SP stated, citing the incidents where an auto driver and a child from her piggy bank had contributed to the district police. Amid this prolonged lockdown, police personnel are discharging their duty day & night and to take care of their family members we are also providing essential items once in a week, SP informed.
While extending gratitude to the denizens and donors, Sain urged all to comply with the guidelines imposed by the DA, state and central government in fighting the pandemic.
