JULLANG, Mar 5: on the PRC issue, Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday asserted that law and order is a prerogative of the state governments, adding that Centre cannot interfere in the internal matters of states.
Rijiju also clarified that the central government is yet to receive a report on the unrest triggered by the PRC issue in the state capital.
“We have asked the Arunachal government to share detail report of the PRC imbroglio after conducting a thorough inquiry,” he said.
Rijiju’s comment came while interacting with media on the sidelines of the state BJP convention meeting which began at Jullang, Itanagar.
Over the report of manhandling of media persons covering the PRC episode and use of excessive force, Rijiju asserted that the matter also needs to be investigated.
“The recent incident of violence over PRC issue is very unfortunate which claimed innocent lives and caused damages to public properties. I have also personally requested the state government to submit the report as soon as possible,” Rijiju added.
