Dadam, May 24: A huge gathering of people bid their last farewell in tears as the last rites of the slain former Civil Supplies Minister and sitting MLA of 56-Khonsa West Assembly Constituency Tirong Aboh was performed today with state honour accompanying gun salute here in his native village.
As a mark of respect, a wreath was laid on his mortal remains by the Deputy Commissioner of Tirap P.N. Thungon on behalf of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd). A ceremonial gun salute was accorded by the Arunachal Pradesh Police as a mark of honour to the departed leader. A one-day state mourning was also observed today by the state government.
The bodies of Along Aboh, PSO Poanhang Agi, Tangro Atoa, Jalin Hakhun, Wangngoi Hakhun, Wangngo Hakhun, Gamwang Hakhun, Matlam Aboh who also fell victims to the bullets of the assassins were also buried here at Dadam Helipad. Body of Patwang Sumpa and PSO- HC Late Siksa were buried in their respective ancestral villages of Huakan and Upper Kolam. SP Tirap, CO 36Bn CRPF, Army Commandant, CO 16 Assam Rifles, Circle Officer, Dadam, Chiefs, GBs, Officers, bereaved family & relatives and common people from various places of Dadam were present.
Late Tirong Aboh who succumbed to the bullets of the assailants on the fateful day of May 21 was elected as 56-Khonsa West MLA as a PPA candidate for the first time in the 2014 State Assembly Election. He later joined the INC when Nabam Tuki was the then Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and was inducted as Cabinet Minister for Civil Supplies and DoTCL for a period of around 4 months.
And it is most heartbreaking since the election results had just declared him victorious as NPP contestant in this year's assembly polls.
It is worth mentioning that within a short span of his political career Aboh achieved various developmental goals in his constituency which includes the creation of CD, Block Dadam, Primary Health Centre, IB & mini-outdoor stadium at Circle H/Q, Dadam, upgraded Government Secondary School at Dadam, road connectivity from Dadam to Moktowa, a 100-bedded Girls Hostel for GSS, Dadam and 20-bedded Hostel for Collegiate at Deomali. He was also instrumental in coming up of Water Treatment Plant, and completion of Community Halls at Moktowa, Huakan, Bera, Kothin, Laho etc, inclusion of Dadam circle under BADP, podium-cum-public gallery at Lazu EAC H/Q and multipurpose community hall at Circle H/Q, Dadam.
