Itanagar, Dec 12: A two-day review meeting of Language Officers on the major research project titled ‘Linguistic Survey of Arunachal Pradesh’ was conducted here at the Conference Hall of J.N. State Museum under chairmanship of Director of Research Batem Pertin on December 11-12.
The meeting was attended by all Language Officers of the districts who briefed the progress status of the languages and dialects of the respective tribes. Director of Research informed that state government is prioritising on timely completion of the research scheme and sought utmost sincerity and dedication on part of the officers. Earlier, Sectional In-Charge Jimi Pulu, Assistant Director, Philology also called for whole hearted co-operation from the field research officers for making the project successful.
Considering the endangerment of the state's mongoloid languages and dialects, the Philological Section of the Directorate of Research has undertaken the research scheme in order to address the critical issue of saving the indigenous languages. Directorate of Research PR
