ITANAGAR, May 31:  Land Affected Justice Forum (Joram to Koloriang) has alleged embezzlement in disbursement of compensation in Joram- Kolorinag Trans Arunachal Highway road under Lower Subansiri district.

Addressing reporters at press club, Forum’s Chairman Likha Tongum  further alleged that the then district administration  has  released  payment of Rs 6 crore to a single firm on May 1 last, whereas actual affected people who are  more than 700 in numbers have been deprived.

Moreover, despite freezing of government account on May 26 last by the fact finding committee, from which land compensation has to be released,  Manager Central Bank of India-Ziro Branch  has released  another 6 crore to the same firm and  Rs 2 crore for others on May 28 last violating the government order.

‘How can such huge amount be released to a single firm  ignoring the other affected people, it should be against the land owners or against land affected people,’ questioned the Chairman while informing that they have submitted a representation to Commissioner Land management, Chief Secretary  as well as to Commissioner Home on May 29  last seeking their intervention .

Expressing its resentment over the embezzlement, Forum has further demanded immediate  re-verification of the project and action against the then Deputy Commissioner, LRSO, Junior Engineer and Bank Manager Central Bank of India, Ziro Branch.
