Kanubari, Oct 20: KVK Longding organized the ‘Technology Week’ at Government Secondary School in Niausa village which saw the participation of farmers, general public, officers, officials, teachers and students.
I/c Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Longding, Dr A. Kirankumar Singh highlighted the objective of organising the week and its importance in improvement of productivity of crops with the adoption of new technologies. Dr Singh also said that the activities of KVK are performed in a two-way process for which active participation by farmers is desired. During the programme, Wangcho Farmers’ Welfare Association was handed over with 2 Millet Threshing Machines and seeds of different winter vegetables by the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner, Longding district Cheshta Yadav. DC also released two leaflets on “Imbalanced Use of Plant Nutrients (Major & Micro)” and “Bottling Mushroom-A New Smart Innovative Approach for Doubling Farmers’ Income”.
The farmers were highlighted with “Water Conservation and Its Importance for Mankind at this Present Era” as a part of Jal Shakti Abhiyan and SMS (Animal Science) Dr Tilling Tayo briefed about “Piggery Diseases and their Management”. SMS (Plant Protection) Dr Senpon Ngomle highlighted on “Mushroom cultivation as an alternative source of income generation” followed by farmers-scientists interaction where doubts of the farmers were clarified.
