ITANAGAR, Feb 4: Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Vinai Kumar Saxena called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) BD Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar today.
The Governor emphasised on exploring new avenues for providing employment, creating self-reliance amongst the poor and building up of a strong rural community self employment avenues.
The Governor, who has been promoting traditional handloom and handicrafts, asked the KVIC Chairman to assist the local artisans and entrepreneurs to produce saleable articles.
The Governor suggested for more focus on the planning, promotion, organisation and implementation of programs for the development of Khadi and other village industries in the rural areas in coordination with other agencies engaged in rural development, taking special care for benefiting local people.
