Development Commissioner (Finance, Planning and Investment) Ashish Kundra held a pre-budget consultation meeting with the Deputy Commissioners, DPOs, Agriculture and Horticulture officers, progressive farmers , college principals and KVK staff of the Divisional Commissioner(West) at Yachuli on Saturday.
Secretary, Finance and Agriculture, YW Ringu, Dr. Joram Beda, Secretary (Planning), Himanshu Gupta, Special Secretary (CMO), Deputy Director Planning Amitav Khundu , Okep Tayeng, Joint Director, Planning and Gamli Padu, Divisional Commissioner (West) also attended the meeting.
While highlighting the priority sectors, Kundra called for projecting schemes and proposals that are realistic and help in bridging infrastructural gaps in the development process. Emphasis should be given to human resource development to encourage entrepreneurship and generate a self sustainable economy, he added.
In the discussions that followed the participants reflected need based schemes of their districts pertaining to education, health, agri &allied sector and tourism sectors.
Progressive farmers shared their farming stories and also the problems faced by them at the ground level. They were unanimous in their demands for facilitating marketing linkages, cold storage, machineries like drier for large cardamom, tea processing unit and trainings on the latest agricultural technologies.
The Commissioner also reviewed various central schemes under Sankalp Se Sidhi and the status of the smart classroom implementation.
