Roing, Jan 28: Dr. Virendra Kumar, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment(GoI), on the second day of his visit to Arunachal Pradesh, interacted with beneficiaries of various Central Government Schemes and SHG members at Roing, and visited the District Hospital, Government Higher Secondary School and interacted with students. He also visited the homes of beneficiaries at Balek village in Lower Dibang Valley district.
During his interaction with beneficiaries at Roing, Dr Virendra Kumar encouraged them to share their stories and experiences and motivate others to avail the benefits of the welfare schemes of the government. Stating that schemes like PMAY are a benefit for the poor, PMJAY a boon for the sick and helpless, PM Samman Nidhi Yojna an aid for farmers who feed the country and the free distribution of food grain, an answered prayer for the hungry, Kumar informed that the stories shared by the farmers, patients, womenfolk, SHG members, students and the youth were heartening and highlighted the success of the government’s initiatives.
The time and effort saved by the beneficiaries with the provision of basic necessities through the government schemes can now to harnessed for the development of the district, state and the country, said the Minister while stressing on the need to include the left out beneficiaries under the ambit of the CS and SS Schemes.
Minister(Health & Family Welfare)Alo Libang and MLA Gum Tayeng also addressed the beneficiaries and encouraged them to avail the benefits provided by the government. Also present were ZPC Tony Borang, DC Soumya Saurabh and beneficiaries of PMAY (G), PM SVANIDHI, PMJAY, PM UJWALA YOJANA
SHGs, Widow pensions, Disabilities pensions, old age pension and CM Atma Nirbhar scheme beneficiaries.
The Union Minister also visited Parshuram Kund under Wakro Subdivision of Lohit District and offered prayers and interacted with the priests of the mandir. He also took stalk of the developmental activities being carried out at Parshuram Kund. He was accompanied by DC Lohit Shashvat Saurabh, ADC Wakro AJ Longphi, HoDs and the members of PDSA, CALSOM etc.
