ITANAGAR, Sep 30: Four candidates filed their nominations for the Bye-Poll to the 56-Khonsa West Assembly Constituency on the last day of nomination.
The candidates who filed their nominations are Chakat Aboh wife of Late Tirong Aboh, Yumsen Matey,Wangchu Lowang and Azet Yangli Humtok. All the four candidates have filed their nomination as Independent candidate, informed Joint Chief Electoral Officer, DJ Bhattacharjee.
Scrutiny of all the nominations will be held on October 1, added the Joint CEO while informing that all security measures has been take for free and fair election.
The 56-Khonsa West Assembly Constituency fell vacant after the death of Late Tirong Aboh, who along with ten others were assassinated by insurgent group on May last.
No political party--central or regional has fielded their candidate as all five major political parties from the state, Congress, BJP, NPP,JDU and PPA have unanimously decided to support Chakat Aboh as their consensus candidate on September 29 last.
