ITANAGAR, Aug 25: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today paid floral tribute to the deceased former Union Minister Arun Jaitley here at the party office during the ‘Shraddhanjali Samaroh’ organised by State BJP.
Observing a 2-minute silence for the peace of the departed soul along with several BJP MLAs and party workers, Khandu remembered the former Union Minister as an outstanding parliamentarian and a big legal luminary who always fought for eradication of corruption. He also appreciated late Jaitley for bringing major financial reforms such as GST, Jan Dhan Yojana etc.
Recalling his interactions with Jaitley, CM said that he was always encouraging towards Arunachal becoming economically self-sufficient. Following his direction, we have been trying to make Arunachal a self-sustainable state, Khandu added.
APCC General Secretary-cum-Spokesman Charu Taya on behalf of the rank and file of State Congress while deeply mourning the untimely demise of Jaitley said that his death has created a void which will always be felt. Let the departed soul rest in eternal peace, the message read.
