BANA, Jan 12: Chief Minister Pema Khandu attended the 44th Sarok festival celebrated by the Aka community here in presence of Education Minister Taba Tedir, Sports Minister Mama Natung, MLAs Goruk Pordung, Hayeng Mangfi and Tapuk Taku on Saturday last.
Besides attending the festival, Khandu  also laid foundations  for the ITI at Bana, Eklavya Residential School at Lumdung, Integrated Water Conservation at Naraba, Eco Tourism Park at Yarping and Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission at Richukrong cluster.
Expressing hope that East Kameng district will witness tremendous development in coming days, he urged government officers to work with dedication to achieve growth targets and appealed the district’s people particularly the Aka community to preserve their rich culture, heritage and language. For the preservation of Aka language and culture, Chief Minister promised for development of an Aka Dialect and Preservation Centre. He added that under the Department of Indigenous Affairs, government is committed to support efforts for preservation of tribal dialects in Arunachal and assured for development of a festival ground here and promised for development of road networks connecting all villages in the block. To promote growth of horticulture and agriculture in the district and state, Chief Minister informed that state government is seriously pursuing the idea of enabling market linkages for farmers. 

On shortage of administrative officers, he said that 48 new vacant posts of  Circle Officers have been identified  for which APPSC has been entrusted to conduct fresh recruitment, which hopefully will be completed within 7-8 months. Informing that the exam will be conducted as per UPSC pattern, he added that 19 further posts of CO will be added up through lateral entry. Earlier, APPSC conducted exams to fill up vacant posts for 61 Circle Officers, which is now pending in court. 
As a temporary measure, Chief Minister informed that wherever there is shortage, Group A Officers will be given temporary charges of Circle Officers and as of now, the state has 138 vacant posts of Circle Officers. CMO
