ANINI, Sep 25:Kemeha, the harvesting festival, one of the major festivals of the Mishmi community of Dibang Valley was celebrated on September 24 at Anini. On the occasion the Deputy Commissioner, W Khimun, the chief guest exhorted the people to maintain the age old tradition and culture handed down by forefather calling it ‘a gift and should be preserve at all cost.’ The local MLA Rajesh Tacho also narrated the importance of the festival.
Many talented artistes including school children from across the district performed cultural programmes to commemorate the festivities.
