Aalo, Aug 28: On the occasion of its 22nd Foundation Day-cum-Felicitation Function at Jarbom Gamlin Indoor Stadium, Yomcha on August 27 last, the Kargu Kardi Students’ Union has been urged to inculcate values of life and act as an agent of socio-economic, cultural and educational development of the backward area.
Attending the day long programme as guests, DIPRO Gijum Tali, KKSU Secretary Deny Boje, Bhaskar Yomcha and Lukre Likar urged the union members to conduct educational tours to assess the reasons for poor academic performance which is contributing to the overall fall of educational standard of West Siang district. KKSU was also urged to spread awareness on Swacchh Bharat, ill effects of drug and tobacco products, plantation, diseases like AIDS & HIV. Medical Officer Dr. Jumge Padu and representative from Mothers’ Vision Yomcha Unit dwelt at length on HIV/AIDS and tobacco other diseases that have detrimental bearing on the health of young people and distributed pamphlets as a part of awareness campaign.
KKSU Secretary, Convenor Kenjom Gadi and Lukba Ronya dwelt at length on the activities of the union. Public leaders and former students of Yomcha sub-division also spoke on the occasion. DIPRO
