ITANAGAR, Jun 1: The karate team from Arunachal Pradesh which took part in the All India Wado- Kai Karate Championship held at Kanyakumari from May 24-26 has brought honour for the state by winning a total of 11 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze medals in various categories.
Dugi Tagar clinched 2 gold medals and 1 gold each was won by Dora Kamin, Ajay Rotom, Goken Basar, Toko Tada and Toko Taib in the senior level category. Tenzin Wangdi Paichulupa, Nabam Tullen and Larbo Sango Weshi were winners in the sub-junior category.
Sensei Dugi Teli led the team as head coach accompanied by Goken Basar and Shihan Nikki Yarda as manager and team mentor respectively.
