KANGKU/LIKABALI, Aug 2: The Likabali Constituency MLA Kardo Nyigyor today flagged as well as laid foundation stone of the construction of road under PMGSY of Kangku Circle under Lower Siang district.
The construction of road will be executed on phase wise, for Bali to Kangku (30 km), Kangku to Siloni (14.01km), Siloni to New Hime (10.50 km) and from New Minmang to Rupai (14.00 km).
Addressing the gathering here at Kangku on Friday, Nyigyor appealed the people of the circle to cooperate with the contractor as well as the district administration for quality work and fast completion of the road.
He also appealed the people not to obstruct the work of the contractor but at the same time said that any compromise in work quality must be informed to district administration or the concerned executing department.
“The road was a dream project of the 26 villages for many years and it should be completed in the stipulated time frame,” he said while adding that he will be personally monitoring the work.
He also added that the alignment of road should not be compromised. Nyigyor also said that, the black topping of the Gensi road is his next priority.
“The work should be inspected by the district administration timely. And also the people should know that they can’t demand for any land compensation, as the rule states that no compensation will be provided under PMGSY project,” he added. Speaking on the day, SDO cum DC in charge Olik Perme said that, the circle has been deprived of road since decades, thus people should appreciate the hard work of the MLA to bring the project at the earliest on peoples demand.

He said due to no proper all weather roads the villagers of the circle have to travel all the way through Assam to reach the  district headquarters or the nearby villages.
