RAGA, Dec 15: The first foundation day of Kamle district was celebrated across the length and breadth of the district with a massive “Swachh Bharat” campaign.
Initiated by Raga Area Employees Welfare Association (RAEWA) in collaboration with district administration, the campaign witnessed huge participation from District Health Society including student and other organizations. RAEWA President Taw Papu with General Secretary Dr. Kapu Sopin along with their Executive members and AKDSU Vice President Kabak Sagge with his executive members kicked off the campaign on Friday by Swachch Bharat Mission Awareness from Pamluk to Godak.
Social Service campaign was kicked off Saturday morning by MLA Tamar Murtem in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi, SP John Pada among others.
Addressing the gathering, Murtem said, "A disease free and a healthy society can propel the development and economic activities of an area. Adopting cleanliness habits and religiously keeping our surroundings clean will ensure a healthy society. Let us all be forerunners and pledge to make Kamle as one of the cleanest districts of the state."
He further advised the youths to denounce tobacco and join hands in making Kamle a tobacco free district.
