PASIGHAT, Mar 21: The 6^thdeath anniversary of visionary leader late Kabang Borang was observed at his residence here today in which well-wishers including DC Tamiyo Tatak, ADC T Borang, ZPC Kaling Dai, BBK President Oyem Dai and many retired officials and senior leaders paid floral tribute recalling Borang’s great contributions.

The programme was organized by the Kepang Society, led by President Tokbom Perme in which the gathering offered prayers to the late leader who is still remembered and known as a Political Guru of many leaders.

Late Borang was born on 5^th February at Ayeng Village under Mebo Sub-Division, East Siang district. He served the state as member of Agency Council (PR) and Pradesh Council 1972-75. As MLA in Provisional Legislative Assembly 1975-78. President DCC(I), East Siang District 1987-89. Elected MLA from Geku-Mariyang A/C for three consecutive terms in 1990, 1995 and 1999. Cabinet Minister in the 1^st Legislative Assembly and held portfolio of Transport from 1^st March to 30^th March 1995, Forest, Law and Judicial, Planning from March 1995 to 1^st June 1998 and Home affairs from 18^th September to 2^nd August 2003. Borang breathed last on 21^st March, 2012 last.
