Legal Aid Clinic set up in Rajya Sainik Board
ITANAGAR, Apr 29: The annual meet of the various District Legal Services Authorities was held today at Itanagar. Members from various districts as well as National Legal Services, New Delhi also attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Special Secretary, Delhi State Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, Geetanjali Goel underscored their exposure to the social evils prevailing in society and urged to utilise the knowledge and experiences for the successful implementation of legal services schemes. She also elaborated the services of Para Legal Volunteers and Legal Aid Counsels in legal services activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Member Secretary, NALSA, New Delhi, Alok Agarwal, highlighted the various challenges in the field of providing legal services and other activities by the judicial officers. He also informed that Legal Services Authorities are the largest services providers in the world in regard to facilitating social benefits through provisions of legal aid.
Agarwal , further exhorted the judicial officers present to work for the welfare of backward sections of society.
Among others, Member Secretary, APSLSA Budi Habung, Registrar Gauhati High Court Itanagar Permanent Bench, Nani Grayu, Deputy Secretary Law & Judicial-cum- OSD, APSLSA Dani Belo and all 16 Judicial officers who are the Ex-officio Chairpersons cum Secretaries of the various DLSAs across the state attended the annual meet.
