PASIGHAT, Dec 16: Pasighat West MLA Er. Tatung Jamoh today visited the Mangnang fire victims and handed over a cash amount of Rs. 1 lakh with 50 pieces of CGI sheets each to the seven mainly affected and Rs. 50,000 with 40 pieces CGI sheets each to the six other victims today.
While handing over the relief amount, Jamoh informed the fire victims that as per his appraisal about the fire accident to the Chief Minister, Pema Khandu allotted the amount to families whose shop, granary etc were charred in the inferno.
Deputy Commissioner, East Siang, Tamiyo Tatak also advised the victim families along with other villagers of Mangnang to reintroduce traditional ‘Lamkang’ system to protect the village for any disaster during the busy harvesting period. Tatak said that traditional Lamkang system is very helpful in thwarting any incidents in the villages, as in such system some sections of villagers stay back in the village as caretakers. He also felt the need to reintroduce the system in all Adi inhabited areas under Siang belt.
Meanwhile, Central Donyi Polo Yelam Kebang, Pasighat, Constituency Political Forum and other organizations also contributed relief materials to the fire victims.
