ITANAGAR, Apr 28: Highway Magistrate cum ADM Talo Potom today informed about the state government and the construction agency's seriousness in constructing and timely completion of national highway from Itanagar to Papu Nallah.
“The construction of NH 415 will be completed within the stipulated time frame of September next provided the agency works in two shifts both night and day," informed Potom.
He also added that the highway may be completed but the underground bypass and few bridges will be left out this year due to various technical reasons.
He further attributed the weather conditions and compensation issues as some of the reasons due to which the construction work got delayed.
"Formation cutting near Dree ground and few other locations are left now, and it will be completed within few weeks.
To make it complete, we are providing all possible support to the construction agency so that there shouldn’t be any hindrances", said Potom.
When asked about steep curve and use of cement bags filled with clay in culverts, the Magistrate informed that concern construction agency has been directed to rectify the matter.
"They have assured to rectify the curve during second bituminous bound macadam (BBM) process and on steep curve the agency said due to absence of cement during lockdown, they have used bags with clay to protect the areas from soil erosion. However within next three days they will replace it and used proper material to protect the culverts."
