YINGKIONG, Oct 21: MLA 40 Mariyang-Geku, Kanggong Taku visited Millang village to take stock of the damages resulting out of the fire accident that occurred on October 18 last.
The MLA was accompanied by ADC Mariyang, PD Upper Siang, EAC Geku and other government officers of Mariyang Circle.
While distributing 40 pieces CGI sheets to each affected family for re-building their houses, he assured to take up the issue at the government level for providing adequate relief to the victims and their early re-settlement and rehabilitation.
He also suggested the villagers to maintain proper space during construction of houses so as to avoid spreading of any future fire mishap.
Meanwhile, as a mark of solidarity, the 2018 batch of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers with Dr. Ojing Dameng one of them and also hailing from the village, has mobilized an amount of Rs.67,700 within a short notice of 6 hours for the immediate relief of the affected families. These officers are currently undergoing training at National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur.
