Khonsa,  Jun 23:  International Olympic Day, 2019 was observed today here at the  district headquarters along with the  rest of the world under the aegis of Tirap District Olympic Association(TDOA) with participation from students and youths  of  various schools.
ASP   Harsh Indora, IPS urged the participants to engage themselves in sports and  keep distance  from all  unlawful activities. He said that it is fortunate to have Kiren Rijiju  as Union Sports Minister from the state and urged the students and the participants to be more skilled with inputs from  technical experts of the sports department.
Certificates for various categories  were  given away by the ASP and DSO. In 100 meter race Junior Boys, Wangkham Moinyak came first followed by Palai Pansa and Boluk Wangpan. In 100 meter race Senior Boys, John Das was the winner with the remaining spots going to Pangtem Losu and Tinglem Wangsu. In Shot-put senior boys 1st, 2nd and third  spots  went  to  Phokwang Sumnyan, Panglem Losu and Rajendra Sonour respectively. 
Choiam Loham was the winner in 100 meter race Junior Girls with  Chanya Afi coming 2nd and  Komnya Hangsik & Humcha Sumnyan joint 3rds.  In 100 meter race Senior Girls 1st, 2nd and 3rd  spots  went to Litkhin Tochu, Chasam Lowang and Nyapdan Wangpan respectively. In 1500 meter race Senior Boys category, Tinlem Wangsu was the winner and Palai Wangsu and Wakhian Tekwa clinched the remaining positions. In the 1500 meter race Senior Girls event,  Khamcha Kamhua emerged winner and Litkhin Tochu and Seycha Mesia 2nd and 3rd. Tug-Of-War Boys winner was the   Martial Art Team, Khonsa and GHSS, Khonsa as runners up. In the Girls category   GHSS Khonsa were winners and Govt. Town Secondary School, Khonsa runners-up.In  Long Jump Senior Boys category, the first three positions went to Tinglem Wangsu, John Das and Nokwan Nokbi respectively. In  Girls category Litkhin Tochu won the 1st position with Hanoan Nokbi and Chasam Lowang 2nd and 3rd. DIPRO
