ITANAGAR, Aug 4: To mark the 7th International Blues Music Day, the Arunachal Independent Musicians Forum organized the first ever Annual International Blues Music Day in Itanagar on Saturday last .
The day is celebrated every year on the first Saturday of August.The initiative was the brainchild of world-renowned Blues Musician Johnny Childs. More than 200 people turned up to the event at a city-based hotel.
The artist from Kolkata based band, The Big Family were Roshan Ganguly, Rupsha Seen, Permit Dutta and Aakash Ganguly and local artists such as Dambi Jini performed.
Others who performed were Inime Tacho, Liyir Karso, Vicky Tamang, Takar Nabam, Katem Apang, Samuel Pertin, Nisham Pul, Teji Toko(drummer) along with young female drummer Tomi Gamlin.
Earlier the Arunachal Independent Musicians Forum also organized the first World Music Day, and also the third edition of the International Jazz Day in the state capital.
