ITANAGAR, Jan 7: Local MLA Techi Kaso along with the DC Capital Prince Dhawan today inaugurated the infrastructure work for schools under Chief Minister’s Samast Shiksha Yojana (CMSSY) falling under Naharlagun PWD Division at Government Middle School, Lekhi.
The MLA informed that many initiatives have been taken to improve the educational scenario in the Capital Complex. There is also a proposal for a new G+ 3 building for GMS Lekhi, he informed along with proposals for upgradation of other schools which are also in the pipeline. He informed that the State Government is committed to improve the education system and sought cooperation of every individual specially teachers and students whose contribution is prime to improve the education system.
The DC informed that under CMSSY, repair and maintenance is under process in all the schools of the Capital Complex. Though infrastructure development is necessary, however it is the teachers and students upon which the glory of the school lies, stressed the DC. He further added that the District Administration is doing its best to improve the overall condition of the schools. He also lauded the MLA who has also contributed a lot in the education sector.
The DC also informed that under CMSSY, training for 400 plus teachers were also conducted in collaboration with Azim Premji Foundation, Avanti Fellows, ALS IAS and various schools of Capital Complex.
He also informed that earlier basic furniture items, whiteboards, water filters etc were also distributed to all the schools. He also assured that development of playground, construction of toilets and boundary wall etc as submitted in the memorandum would also be taken care of. 
Dhawan further informed that repair work of the road from Arun Subansiri to Mowb II and Gandhi Market will also start shortly.
