PASIGHAT, Jun 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Indian Army, Sigar military station initiated a series of events to promote the theme Our land, Our Future, We Are #Generation Restoration. The events were aimed to promote a prosperous and beautiful environment nurturing through public participation. 
A cleanliness drive was carried out at the Siang Beach which is a major tourist destination of East Siang District. Spearhead gunners alongwith 25 school children of Don Bosco, Mebo and 25 cadets of NCC, Pasighat volunteered and manually disposed off the solid waste, litter improvingthe overall façade of the beach site. The event was graced by the presence of Brig. Himanshu Bhatnagar, Cdr, 56 Arty Bde, Tayi Taggu, DC, Pasighat, Sachin Singhal, SP, Pasighat and Pankaj Lamba, ASP, Pasighat.
Followed by the cleanliness drive an informative lecture was conducted by Capt Gaurav Chadda of Spearhead Gunners Brigade at Mebo for the villagers of Mebo tehshil. This event witnessed an enthusiast participation of approx 100 villagers. The lecture inspired the locals to maintain cleanliness of their villages and its adjoining areas. The event culminated with a tree plantation drive at Government school Mebo wherein 50 saplings were planted within the school premises.
